BMW is committed to developing the most innovative safety features for its lineup of luxury vehicles. The BMW X3 recently earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after receiving a "good" rating in all categories. 

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluates a vehicle's performance in frontal off-set crash, side impact, rear impact and roof crush tests.  The vehicle then earns a rating for each of the tests, with "good" being the highest possible rating.  The Insurance Institute for Highway safety deemed the BMW X3 a Top Safety Pick because it earned a "good" rating in all crash tests and electronic stability control is standard on BMW's popular sports-activity vehicle. 

The BMW X3 safety features intended to protect drivers and passengers in a crash include front, side, head and knee protection airbags. In addition, the Dynamic Stability Control and xDrive all-wheel drive system help to provide drivers with increased traction and handling under changing road conditions.  Drivers can also choose to add the optional head-up display system to the BMW X3, which projects the most important navigation or alert information directly into the driver's field of view.
