A New Green BMW Vehicle

Here at Fields BMW Northfield, we know that more drivers are looking for green cars lately. The BMW brand is already leading the way with a variety of capable hybrid and electric models, and it has even more aggressive green car plans in the works. One part of that plan is the new BMW i4, which just made its debut.

This sleek and stylish model is clearly based on the I Vision Dynamic concept, which we saw late last year. The concept features an advanced electric powertrain that actually makes it capable of accelerating from zero to sixty-two mph in just four seconds. It has a top speed of around 120 miles per hour. When it comes to BMW cars, performance and green tech can go hand in hand.

This concept also offers a range of around 370 miles. If the BMW i4 can replicate that, we would be thoroughly impressed. One of the big obstacles to widespread electric car adoption is “range anxiety,” which is when drivers worry that an electric car won't be able to get them to their destination without requiring a stop to recharge. An impressive range like this could help alleviate that common fear.

We don't know exactly when the BMW i4 will arrive on the market, but we do know that its one of at least eleven battery-powered models that will join the BMW lineup by 2025. We look forward to seeing this car, and other upcoming green BMW vehicles, for ourselves.
