In June, BMW sales increased 24.6% with over 6000 more vehicle sold this June compared to June 2012. For the year, BMW sales are up 11% overall. In and around Illinois, BMW dealers saw first-hand which BMW vehicles were the most popular in the month of June. The top selling BMW vehicles in June were the BMW 3 Series (sales up 62.6%), BMW 6 Series (sales up 119.5%), BMW 7 Series (sales up 58.6%), and the BMW X3 SAV (sales up 5.5%).
"There is nothing like an abundance of new and popular models to drive sales, resulting in new U.S. sales records for BMW and pre-owned BMW," said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. "We started this year with confidence and optimism; the sales results have verified our viewpoint and we are very much looking forward to the second half with more new models on the way including the new X5."
In Illinois, BMW dealers also saw in increased demand for BMW pre-owned vehicles. In the month of June, sales of both certified pre-owned and pre-owned BMW vehicles increased 2.7% compared to last year. Through the first six months of 2013, sales of BMW pre-owned vehicles are up over 5%!
