Last week, BMW unveiled the first-ever BMW M4 in a unique way: by having it race through a one-of-a-kind course that was constructed from fan-sourced current and classic BMW M vehicles! BMW enthusiasts from all over the country volunteered their own BMW M vehicles to be a part of this exclusive experience! Keep reading to learn more!
The course consisted of 49 total cars, 4 race cars, and more than 11,566 horsepower. Precision drivers Matt Mullins, Chief Driving Instructor, BMW Performance Driving School, and Chris Forsberg, Formula Drift Champion, put the 2015 BMW M4 through its paces on the specially-designed closed course that was formed into the shape of the BMW M Series logo. The 2015BMW M4 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter inline V6 that generates 425 horsepower and 405 pound-foot of torque. It comes with the same TwinTurbo technology as its M3 sibling. Two transmissions are available, a new six-speed manual with a twin-plate clutch and stronger gears, as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual. BMW expects it to go from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds, and it even offers a “Smokey Burnout” function that allows the driver to indulge in some rear wheel spin while moving at low speeds.
