Are the multiple trim levels?
The four-door five-passenger 2015 BMW X3 comes in four different trims: sDrive28i, xDrive28i,  xDrive28d, and xDrive35i. An s designation means it comes with rear-wheel drive, while the x designation means it comes with the BMW all-wheel drive system. The xDrive28d is powered by a turbodiesel engine, while i models are gasoline powered. 

What comes under the hood?
There are three different engine options. The sDrive28i and the xDrive28i come powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 240 horsepower and 260 pound-foot of torque. The xDrive35i gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder that delivers 300 horsepower and 300 pound-foot of the torque. The xDrive28d has a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower 280 pound-foot of torque. All models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

How is the fuel economy?
The EPA expects the sDrive28i models to average 21/28 mpg, city and highway, while the turbodiesel should average an impressive 27/34 mpg, respectively, which is great for its class. 

Is it a safe car to drive?
Absolutely! It comes with a slew of standard safety features including all the class standard airbags, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, child safety locks, integrated turn signal mirrors, auto-leveling headlights, blind spot monitor, and lane departure warning system.
