The 2015 BMW M4 will be available as both a coupe and a convertible when it hits the streets come January. With its unique front and rear aluminum suspension components and 19-inch alloy wheels, the 2015 BMW M4 will sit nearly 2 inches wider than its 4-Series counterparts. The wider track means it’s constructed with unique body panels all around, including the aluminum hood and front quarter panels, and a sleek carbon-fiber roof.
It comes powered by the classic BMW 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that gets 426 horsepower and 406 pound-foot of torque. Peak power arrives around 5,000 rpm and peak torque around 2,000 rpm, while it can rev all the way up to 7,600 rpm. There are two transmission options available: a six-speed manual that is fortified with a twin-plate clutch and stronger gears, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual. BMW estimates that it accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds; it even offers a “Smokey Burnout” function that lets the driver have some fun with rear wheelspin while driving at lower speeds.
BMW has also equipped the 2015 BMW M4 with a slew of all the latest advanced safety, driver assistance, and entertainment features, including pedestrian collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and adaptive head beams.
