This year marks the 40th anniversary of BMW of North America, and to help celebrate that anniversary, BMW has announced when the much-lauded 2016 BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe will be making its North American debut! BMW will be introducing this amazing coupe next month at the 2015 New York International Auto Show on Wednesday April 1 and Thursday, April 2. In addition to celebrating 40 years of BMW of North America, the debut will celebrate the 50th anniversary of ALPINA! Other vehicles being showcased at the BMW Stand include the 1970 BMW 2002ti ALPINA racecar, a current BMW Z4 GTLM racecar as well as the BMW i8, BMW i3, the BMW X5M, and the BMW X6M.

The four-door 2016 BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe seats up to five and comes powered by an impressive 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that generates 600 horsepower and 590 pound-foot of torque. Industry testing demonstrated that it will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and that it can reach maximum speeds of 200 mph. It comes paired to an eight-speed sport automatic transmission and xDrive, the BMW brand’s intelligent all-wheel drive system. It features a stainless steel exhaust system with the traditional ALPINA elliptical twin tailpipes. It also features updated design features that include a new front spoiler and apron, a new ALPINA hood, and BMW full LED adaptive headlights with high beam assistant.
