Last weekend on the first day of play at the 2015 BMW Championship PGA golf tournament, golfer Jordan Spieth recorded a hole-in-one! When golfers record a hole-in-one at the BMW Championship, it results in the donation of a BMW Hole-In-One Scholarship, which is a full, four-year Evans Scholarship that is worth $100,000! Spieth aced the 2nd hole at the Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, which is just around the corner from your local Chicagoland BMW dealership, Fields BMW Northfield. He hit the shot with a 7-iron from 184 yards out. All the net proceeds from the BMW Championship tournament go to benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, an organization that provides full college scholarships to hardworking, young caddies with a financial need and strong academic records. Since BMW became the title sponsor back in 2007, it has contributed more than $19 million to the scholarship fund. Last Thursday's hole-in-one marked the fourth time over the last five years that BMW has awarded a BMW Hole-In-One Scholarship. Trudy Hardy, Vice President, Marketing, BMW of North America, had this to say about the program:

"Congratulations to Jordan on a recording a hole-in-one during yesterday's round. In honor of his amazing shot, BMW is proud to provide another full, four-year Evans Scholarship to a caddie, helping him or her realize the dream of a college education."

Two Evans Scholars at Northwestern University accepted the donation on behalf of the Evans Scholars Foundation, and later this year, BMW and the Western Golf Association, the sponsor of the Evans Scholars Foundation, will jointly select and award the BMW Hole-In-One Scholarship in Spieth's name to a student caddy who will attend college next fall. Spieth was thrilled that his great golf shot would do more than just give him a great score for his round. He had this to say about what the hole-in-one mean:

"Recording a hole-in-one is always an exciting moment. Having it result in a $100,000 scholarship for the Evans Scholar Foundation makes it that much more meaningful."
