The 2016 BMW M3 Sedan and 2016 BMW M4 Coupe, when equipped with the optional 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds with the new Competition Package, while the 2016 BMW M4 Convertible reaches 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. The Competition Package includes Adaptive M Suspension, which BMW has extensively tuned to enhance performance and handling. It features new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars. It also offers reconfigured driving modes: Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. The standard Active M Differential on the rear axle and the DSC Dynamic Stability Control have also been upgraded to match the upgraded dynamics.

For the 2016 BMW M3 Sedan and 2016 BMW M4 Coupe, the Competition Package also includes special lightweight M sports seats that are comfortable on the track and on the street. It also gets specialized seatbelts with woven-in BMW M stripes that mesh perfectly with the sporty interior ambience.
