Earlier this week, the BMW Group announced that the first BMW Apps integrations for Android devices have been designed and are ready to go! The first three Android app integrations will be for three of the most popular music streaming devices available today: iHeartRadio, Spotify, and Pandora. Currently, drivers of the new 2016 BMW 7 Series models can access and control these apps through iDrive controller and touchscreen while driving! Keep reading to find out more!


The BMW Apps smartphone app integration capability originally launched with iOS operatings systems back in 2011 and has now expanded to include Android users. Along with the expansion to include Android capable smartphones, the BMW partnership with their current iOS partners is stronger than ever. The BMW Apps interface is designed with convenience and safety in mind. It allows drivers to stream their favorite audio channels, change stations, create a favorites list, and switch between apps safely and securely. In order to use the BMW Apps system, Android users must be using OS 4.2 or later. All you have to do is download the BMW Connected app from Google play and connect your phone to your vehicle via Bluetooth.


The 2016 BMW 7 Series comes in two trim levels: the 2016 BMW 740i is a four-door luxury sedan that seats up to five passengers and comes in two full stocked trim levels. The 2016 BMW 740i and 2016 BMW 750i features the BMW iDrive system, BMW Apps with smartphone app integration, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a 10.2-inch central display screen, a rearview camera, the BMW ConnectedDrive portfolio, Gesture Control, and more!
