The power is distributed between front and rear axles in a 40:60 ratio. That figure will change when the road surface or overall driving conditions change. The xDrive system is an intelligent all-wheel drive system that offers a surefooted grip on slick or uneven roads while not giving up the feel of rear-wheel drive. It makes the changes, no matter how slight or large, in just milliseconds. The moment the system realizes the wheels have slipped, it subtly shifts torque in order to match the changing conditions. This provides the optimum amount of traction and handling.
